$1 Tecate night at La Vaca Bar

So, I brought in this 5 day holiday break with some dollar Tecates at a local bar in Austin with my friend, Devin (see below). How many dollars do you think I had spent when I took this picture?

Afterward, we went and got wings and fries. Yum! So good and good for you! Now I have to go pack for Thanksgiving in El Paso. I'll make sure to take lots of pictures. As you may have noticed, I am a big fan of the self portrait. I don't want you all to forget what I look like!

Oh, here are some other patrons enjoying dollar tecate night. He's a musician turned firefighter and she is going to school for social work. They live to save lives and drink $1 beer, just like me. If only there were more of us....

I'm sorry about the dark pictures but I hate using the flash.

Happy Thanksgiving!!!!!!

Weekend in Laredo!!!

Hi! I'm back. I went to Laredo for the weekend and spent some quality time with Lucy and Lily. The blonde is Lucy and Lily is the brunette. Aren't they gorgeous? They're sneaky too. We caught them breaking into my purse. They managed to down two candy bars from Halloween before we caught them.

I couldn't eat tomatoes without having to share with Lucy. She thinks she's entitled to anything we eat!

We went to the movies at the new stadium seating theatre in Laredo on Saturday night. Remind me to NEVER EVER go to the movies in Laredo again. I almost murdered everyone in the theatre! There were 2 crying babies, 20 teenagers sneaking in and out of the theatre (I think they were trying to get into Borat or something), and the girl sitting next to me answered her cell phone TWICE! I leaned over and shushed her real good the first time and she hung up, but she still answered the second time. I swear, some people deserve to be shot.

We saw "Stranger than Fiction" by the way. It was cute.

Look! I'm wearing flipflops outside in November!!!

Why, yes, I do need a pedicure.

I am like an old wise sage...Except for the wise part

Hi! So, I'm not doing so good on the daily thing. Oh, well.

I just got back from a classmate's bridal shower. That is her, Jane, in the fuscia shirt in the top picture. I not quite sure what I am doing with my shoulders. Anyway, I had a very nice time. We played bridal bingo, where all of the squares were little facts about Jane and her fiance. It turns out she was born in 1985. That's right, I said 1985. That means that she was 10 when I graduated high school. I didn't even realize people born in 1985 were allowed to vote yet, much less get married. Ca-razy.

The next picture is of two of my classmates, Rachel (white shirt) and Kyle (brown shirt). They too were born in the eighties. I'm trying not to think about it.

So, on Thursday, I went to Sam and Sarah Ann's house for dinner. I'm pretty sure they were both born in the seventies, but I could be wrong. Anyway, they made me gumbo and it was delicious. Sam was suppose to send me pictures that I was going to post, but he hasn't yet. Anyway, so their new house is awesome. It's right near Central Market, my favorite store in the whole entire world. And I just have to say that I think Sarah Ann may quite possibly be the loveliest person walking the planet.

Okay, so I don't have pictures of Sam and Sarah Ann, but Sam did tip me off to a video on youtube for a song from his old band, The Muscular Christians. It's pretty funny. Enjoy!

Because my Popi told me to...

So, my Dad said that he thought bloggers posted stuff daily. I told him that there were no blogger police and it is my page and I could post whenever I wanted. And then I thought, hey, maybe I should try to post something daily. So, here goes it.

For now, all I've got for you is this pretty picture from the Brooklyn Botanic Garden that I took last spring. Stare at it and contemplate life while I try to come up with something wise to impart to you....

Thanks for coming by!!!!

Football!!!

So, this Saturday, David finally took me to a football game and it was super fun! The Longhorns played the Oklahoma State Cowboys. This is us dressed in the requisite orange before the game.

David used a port-a-potty before the game and I caught him coming out of it!!!!! (I used one later and it was surprisingly very clean.)

This is a giant Jumbotron that we sat in front of. It was so big that I sometimes watched the game on it instead of watching the field!

First the band came out to get us ready for the team...

Then the team came out and the crowd went wild!

including the Dov!!!!

Here are some fans....

This classy lady was wearing Bud Light bottle cap earrings! I'm getting them for everyone for Christmas.

This is Bevo, our mascot.

In the end we won 36-10. We basically kicked their asses. It was lots of fun.

Hook em' Horns!!!!

Today, we went to Alamo Draft House, a movie theatre where you can order beer and food while you watch a movie, and saw Borat. It's a pretty cool place. The best part is that even with all the drinking and eating, everyone pays attention to the movie.
